C++ is an extension of the programming language
C. Written by Bjarne Stroustrup at Bell Labs in the period 1983-1985,
C++ added features to C, using classes and object-oriented features.
C (itself a descendant of B!) was developed at Bell Labs between
1969 and 1973. Originally designed for the UNIX system environment,
C++ could be used by programmers to improve the quality of code
they had written and to write reusable code. There are plenty
websites dedicated to C++ Jobs, and they can also be found on
programming, IT or job websites.
Jobs in C++ tend to be with software companies
and in the IT industry, but are not exclusively so, with many
opportunities in the finance sector. C++ job specifications often
come with a requirement for database skills, such as SQL or Sybase,
and strong object orientation skills. Jobs in C++ can be found
all over the UK, but salaries tend to be higher in the London
and Greater London areas. Demand for C++ jobs has fallen in the
past three years, but average salaries have remained fairly steady
with an average of about £47,000 in the same period.
Finding the right candidate or employer is as easy as ABC.
