This site was founded in 1997 and is the
original Lotus Notes Jobs. The site has since been taken over
by Jobs Inc. We plan to complete the lotusnotesjobs.com branding
metamophasis to Jobs Inc.
The original concept of Notes goes as far back as 1973 at the
University of Illinois. Called PLATO Notes, its function was to
tag a report with a userid and make the file secure. Group Notes
expanded on this theme to create, access and link notes from different
users. Lotus Notes was developed in 1984-5, tying up email, documentation,
phone books and discussions.
In 1995 IBM purchased Lotus, and Domino became
the server side. Notes/Domino 7 was released in August 2005, and
the next release is code-named Hannover. Compared with some programming
roles there are few websites dedicated to Lotus Notes jobs, most
positions being found on programming, IT or general job websites.
Jobs in Lotus Notes tend to be with software companies and in
the IT industry, but are not exclusively so, with varied opportunities
across different sectors.
Lotus Notes job specifications often
come with a requirement for Microsoft Office products and web
skills, such as HTML, XML, Java. Jobs in Lotus Notes can be found
all over the UK, but salaries tend to be higher in the London
and Greater London areas. Average salaries have risen from around
£30,000 ($60,000) to about £34,000 ($68,000) in the
same period.
Lotus Notes Jobs has been acquired by Business Inc. The new parent
co is a UK based company
formation specialist providing offshore
company formation and business
credit reports as well as the individual director
search.
